Brand positioning and marketing strategy, in four parts.

Each engagement draws on the same four areas. We agree which of them you need before any work starts, and what the output of each will be.

01

Defining brand identity

We establish what the business is, what it offers and how it should be described — in language your own team can reuse.

  • What the business sells, in plain terms
  • What makes it different, tested against the market
  • How it should be described to customers and to partners
  • Where the current description is causing confusion

02

Identifying target audiences

We identify the groups worth your attention and set out what each one needs to hear before they will consider you.

  • Segments worth serving first, and why
  • What each segment is trying to solve
  • Where your offer is a fit and where it is not
  • Which groups to leave alone for now

03

Crafting a positioning strategy

A positioning you can say out loud, and defend when someone pushes back. This is the part everything else is built on.

  • A written positioning statement
  • The supporting reasons it holds
  • The alternatives we rejected and why
  • How to keep the position consistent as you grow

04

Planning channels and messaging

We advise on marketing planning, channel selection, campaign direction and messaging — so the position actually reaches the right people.

  • Which channels suit which audience
  • What each channel is for, and what it is not for
  • Message direction for each audience
  • Sequencing guidance for a launch or a repositioning

Questions we are asked before a project starts

Which consulting services do you provide?
Brand identity, target audience definition, positioning strategy, and the marketing planning, channel selection, campaign direction and messaging that follows from them.
How does a brand diagnostic work?
It is a working session on your business, your market and your current communication. We summarise what we heard and where the gaps are.
How long does a project take?
The scope is agreed first, so the timetable follows the scope rather than a fixed figure. We confirm timing before work starts.
How do you charge?
Fees are confirmed with you before work starts, based on the project stages and consulting time involved. We quote per stage so you can stop between them.
Do you run the campaigns?
No. We advise on direction and messaging. Execution stays with you or with an agency you appoint.
What size of business do you work with?
Most of our work is with small and mid-sized businesses, either launching a new brand or repositioning an existing one.
What do you deliver?
Working documents: a positioning statement, audience notes, channel and message direction, and a practical plan with the reasoning behind it.
How do we start?
Send us the basics through the project form and we will come back with how we would approach it.
